Afghanistan Earthquake Kills Several People

A powerful earthquake measuring nearly 6.0 magnitude struck northeastern Afghanistan and parts of Pakistan, causing widespread destruction and loss of life. The earthquake’s epicenter was located near remote mountainous regions, making rescue operations extremely difficult.

Villagers reported collapsed houses, cracked roads, landslides, and severe infrastructure damage. Emergency workers used helicopters and rescue equipment to reach isolated communities trapped by blocked roads and falling debris.

Hospitals across affected areas received dozens of injured victims suffering from fractures, head injuries, and trauma. Local authorities warned that the death toll could rise as search teams continued operations in hard-to-reach villages.

In Pakistan, tremors were felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, and northern areas, causing panic among residents who rushed out of homes and offices. International humanitarian organizations began coordinating relief supplies, including food, tents, medicines, and clean drinking water for displaced families.

Geologists warned that aftershocks remained possible for several days following the main quake.
