Pac wrestler Benjamin Satterley, the British star known for his high-flying style and performances across major wrestling promotions, has died aged 40, his representatives have confirmed. All Elite Wrestling said it was “saddened to announce the passing” of Satterley, who joined the promotion in 2019.

Satterley’s death was confirmed one day after he competed at AEW’s “All Out” event at an arena in Chicago on Saturday evening. No cause of death has been provided.

The Newcastle upon Tyne native began his professional wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform around the world. AEW said he became known for innovative high-flying moves and his ability inside the ring, establishing himself as one of the promotion’s notable performers.

During his time with AEW, Satterley held multiple championships and appeared in what the organisation described as “some of the most memorable matches in AEW history”. His career with the company began in 2019 and continued until his death.

Before joining AEW, Satterley competed for several major wrestling organisations. His career included appearances for World Wrestling Entertainment, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre in Mexico.

Satterley performed under several names throughout his career, including Pac and Adrian Neville. He was also widely known by the nickname “The Man that Gravity Forgot”, a reference to his distinctive wrestling style and signature finishing move.

That move involved Satterley spinning 360 degrees from the top rope before landing on his opponent. His athletic performances and aerial manoeuvres became an important part of his identity throughout his wrestling career.

The news of Satterley’s death prompted an immediate reaction across the wrestling world, with colleagues and former opponents paying tribute to the British wrestler.

WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman described Satterley’s death as a “truly terrible loss”. He also praised him as a “tremendous talent and even finer human being”, highlighting both his abilities as a performer and his character away from the ring.

AEW President Tony Khan also paid tribute to Satterley, saying he “defined excellence” as a husband and friend as well as through his wrestling knowledge, skill and “unprecedented athleticism”.

Khan’s tribute reflected Satterley’s long association with AEW and the impact he had made within the promotion since signing in 2019.

Other wrestlers also expressed shock at the news. British wrestler Will Ospreay described Satterley as “The greatest export from our country. Also the greatest human being” while sharing a photograph of the pair together inside the ring on X.

AEW wrestler Evil Uno said he was shocked by the death and described Satterley as a great person, a great soul and a true professional.

The tributes highlighted the reaction among those who worked alongside Satterley during his career, with many expressing disbelief because of how recently he had appeared in an AEW event.

Satterley began wrestling professionally in 2004 and spent more than two decades competing in different promotions around the world. His work across AEW, WWE, New Japan Pro-Wrestling and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre established him as an internationally recognised British wrestler.

AEW confirmed his death but did not provide a cause. The organisation said Satterley had captivated fans through his innovative moves and in-ring ability, while his career had included multiple championships and memorable matches.

His death at the age of 40 marks the loss of a wrestler whose career had spanned more than 20 years and included some of the biggest wrestling organisations in the world.
