Harry and Meghan UK return are planning to move back to the UK later this month, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex expected to settle in a private residence outside London, according to the BBC.
The Harry and Meghan UK return would mark a significant change for the couple, who have lived in the United States since stepping back from their roles as senior working members of the Royal Family.
Their children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, are also expected to begin attending a British school in September .
Harry and Meghan plan move outside London Harry and Meghan UK return
The couple are understood to be moving to a private, non-royal home outside London. The plans were first reported by the Daily Telegraph and The Sun before being confirmed by the BBC.
There are currently no plans for either Harry or Meghan to return to official duties as working royals. They are expected to continue their lives as private individuals.
The move would nevertheless bring the Sussexes physically closer to other members of the Royal Family after years of living in the US.
King Charles welcomes family reunion
King Charles was informed about the planned relocation on Sunday.
The King is understood to have been unaware of the move before last weekend. However, he reportedly welcomes the opportunity to spend more time with Harry, Meghan and their children in a private and personal setting.
The development comes only weeks after the Sussex family visited the King at his Highgrove home in July.
That meeting did not include discussions about the family’s plans to relocate to Britain, according to the BBC.
Harry and Meghan UK return No return to working royal duties
Despite the planned move, Harry and Meghan’s official status is not expected to change.
The couple stepped back from their senior royal roles in 2020 and subsequently moved to the United States. They remain private citizens and there are no current indications that either intends to resume official royal duties.
Their return to Britain could, however, provide the family with more opportunities to meet members of the Royal Family and maintain personal relationships.
The Harry and Meghan UK return also comes as their children prepare to begin education in Britain, potentially giving the Sussex family a more permanent connection to the country where Harry was born and raised.
For now, the relocation is understood to be a private family decision rather than a return to royal service. The couple are expected to remain outside the working Royal Family while living in their new home near London.
