Six people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 23-year-old woman was found dead at a residential property in north London.
Police were called to an address on Bollinder Place in Clerkenwell at 09:33 BST on Thursday following concerns about the woman’s welfare. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found her unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Four women aged 20, 21, 23 and 26, along with two men aged 21 and 24, were arrested at the property. All six have since been released on bail while police continue their investigation.
Police Investigate Woman’s Death
Detectives are working to establish what happened in the period leading up to the woman’s death.
Police are also trying to locate her next of kin. Once identified, specially trained officers will provide support to the family.
Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart described the incident as tragic and said officers’ thoughts were with the woman’s family and friends.
He also acknowledged that the incident could cause concern among people living in the local community.
Forensic Officers Remain at Property
Police activity continued at the residential development in the days following the woman’s death.
On Monday afternoon, two forensic vans were seen outside the building, while an officer was observed leaving Valencia Tower on Bollinder Place.
A nearby resident, who asked not to be identified, described hearing police activity on Thursday morning and said the response appeared frantic.
The resident said the incident had taken place inside the building and was not connected to someone falling from the property.
Police Say No Wider Public Risk
Chief Superintendent Stewart said the death currently appeared to be an isolated incident and that there was no wider threat to the public.
However, he said police would maintain a visible presence in the area while the investigation continued.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller said the investigation was progressing quickly, with detectives working to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
Police have appealed to anyone who may have information about the incident to come forward and assist investigators.
The six people arrested remain on bail as enquiries continue, and no charges have been announced.
